Attendance Procedure for SPED Students

DRDP Instructions

The data below will assist in the ESY eligibility discussion at the student's next IEP.  The next opportunity to probe for regression will be following the Fall Break in October.  If you have a student that may be eligibe for ESY, please fill out this worksheet and be prepared to discuss at an IEP.  SELPA Guidelines  and Worksheets are provided below:

Interim Placement Form & Process:  Used when a student with an existing IEP transfer into TUSD from another district or state.  This form helps to minimize disruption to a student's special education services while they adjust to their new school and/or special education programs.

When scheduling IEP team meetings:

• Be Timely.  View IEP Timeline Scheduling.
• Be sure to invite all required members of the IEP team to the meeting.
• Legal requirements of Assessments HERE
• Schedule the meeting in accordance with the TEA Master Agreement.
• Provide parents with a Notice of Meeting that includes a list of the parties invited to attend and should be given sufficient advanced notice of the meeting.
• Consider and document accommodations on the ELPAC for EL students. View: ELD in the IEP.

Teacher unit members are afforded the following under the TEA Master Agreement:

As an Ed Specialist (RSP/ SDC Teacher) or an APE teacher you have access to two (2) release days per se- mester for the purpose of IEP related work. These days must be taken on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, and must be worked onsite. Please enter the absence as school business in Aesop.

Suggestions for how to utilize these days:

• Completion of IEP paperwork
• Affirming IEPs
• Student re- evaluation assessments
• Student goal progress assessments
• Preparation for IEP team meetings

Intervention Room - SPED Considerations

All students, including students with disabilities (SWDs), are required to eat their meals in the cafeteria.  State meal service requirements indicate that students must be offered healthy choices.
*Limited exceptions will be considered to support individual student needs.
