MASK USE INFO

There have been many questions and concerns regarding district response to COVID-19, one of those concerning the district stance on masks.  The CDC offers the following guidance about masks use: CDC Website. They do not recommend masks be worn “in the community by asymptomatic persons, including those at high risk for complications, to prevent exposure to influenza viruses.” In fact, the district was warned against using the N95 masks because they pose a greater health risk than the virus (or smoke) risk it is intended to protect against. They restrict oxygen flow and can cause heart attacks in at-risk employees.

The district will not be providing masks to employees.  If an employee chooses to wear a mask, it will need to be a self-provided mask.  The district does urge any employee who feels that they need to wear a mask or is showing any symptoms and does not feel well to stay home.  The district will continue to provide gloves as recommended by the CDC for all interactions with the public.

When to Use Zoom?

During the time of school closure during March 16th- April 20th teachers can use Zoom for the purpose of meetings and student check ins. Using Zoom to check in with students is a great way to reach out and/or provide access to optional learning activities, however any learning activities are not to be graded during this time period.
